How to Calculate Cutting Length of Rectangular Stirrups And Circular Stirrups
Rectangular Column
They are generally use in the Constructions of buildings, which are common in practice these types of columns are provided only if shape of the room is a square orr rectangular shapes. It is the way much easier to construct & cast rectangular or square columns than circular ones.
Site Of Column = 300mm x 400mm
Length Of Column (A) = 300 – (2 x 44) = 212mm
Breadth Of Column (B) = 400 – (2 x 44) = 312mm
Hook Length = 10 D = 10 x 8 = 80 x 2 = 160mm
Cutting Length Of Stirrup = (A x2) + (B x2) + Hook Length
= (212 x2) + (312 x2) + 160
= 1208 mm / 1000 = 1.208m

How To Calculate The Cutting Length Of Circular Stirrup
Circular Column
The Circular Column are used when there is the no need to construct walls on the either side of the Columns. It will be the aesthetically pleasing. Circular columns are also preferred when built at the more traffic areas such as bridges due to their less Cross – sectional areas.
Dia Of Column = 600mm
Dia Of Stirrup c/c = 600— (2x 40)— (4 + 4) = 512mm
Parameter Of Stirrup = nd = 3.142 x 512 = 1608.704mm
Hook Length = 10D=10 x8 =80 x 2 =160mm
Cutting Length Of Stirrup = Parameter Of Stirrup + Hook L
= 1608.704 x 160
= 1768.704 mm / 1000 = 1.768m
