The Role

The H.S.E Officer will co-ordinate, support and advise the business, on all aspects of Health, Safety and Environmental management. To establish, manage and monitor standards, processes, communications, training and systems to ensure all responsibilities associated with Health and Safety within the company are adhered to, to ensure a safe working environment.

Major Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe work environment, without risks to health
• Establishing H.S.E rules, policies and procedures, to support the business and create a safe working environment
• Setting all H.S.E policies for the business in collaboration with the Management and HR Team
• Ensure that all H.S.E policies and procedures are regularly reviewed and updated, to meet changing business and legislative needs and communicated accordingly
• Ensure the company meets its statutory obligations in all areas in relation to the health, safety and welfare at work, including reporting
• Ensure the completion and regular review of risk assessments for all work areas, equipment and operations
• Ensure that all accidents are reported and recorded, in line with company policy and recommended improvements implemented
• Ensure that safety inspections are carried out, fire drills and fire alarms are correctly recorded, safety inspections, risk assessments and lone working procedures are managed and employees are aware of their responsibilities
• Establish a full structured program me of H.S.E training throughout the company and ensure accurate training records are maintained
• Observes H.S.E regulations, wears all required safety equipment, encourages safe working practices and corrects obvious hazards immediately
• Keep up to date with all aspects of relevant health, safety and welfare at work legislation and communicate and implement relevant changes within the business
• Provide support for Quality Assurance of manufactured items
• Provide regular reports to the Senior Management Team on relevant HSE activities
• Prepare monthly metrics on accidents and incidents, which are provided to the ATI HR Team

Qualifications & Desired Skills

• At least 3 years recent and relevant experience in a similar role
• NEBOSH Environmental Certificate
• COSHH Trained
• Must have previously set up a H.S.E department, within a manufacturing plant in the UAE
• A member of the Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH) is desirable
• Proven experience of writing and implementing Health and Safety policies and procedures
• Ability to lead and advise on all Health and Safety matters, to all roles within the business
• Excellent Microsoft Office skills
